NRA to Auction Special Edition Springfield M1A Rifle
April 22, 2008
Springfield Armory Donates Historic Rifle
Collectors of historic firearms have the opportunity to bid on an exquisite, one-of-a kind Springfield M1A Rifle, a priceless addition to any collection. The rifle’s stock boasts carved replicas of the Camp Perry 100th anniversary logo and the NRA Competitive Shooting Sports logo. National Rifle Association and Springfield Armory, which donated the rifle, have their logos engraved on the action-rod assembly. All proceeds benefit the National Rifle and Pistol Championships at Camp Perry, Ohio. Bid online here through May 18, which marks the conclusion of the 137th NRA Annual Meeting in Louisville, Ky. The rifle will be on display at the GunBroker.com booth (No. 1259) in the exhibit hall, and bids can be placed in person at the booth and online. “Springfield Armory’s generous donation of this unique piece is another outstanding example of its dedication to the enhancement of America’s shooting sports and the strength of its partnership with the NRA in support of Camp Perry, and the opportunities the National Matches provide to competitive shooters,” NRA President John C. Sigler said. “We are honored to have its support in this benefit auction.” The rifle’s receiver and barrel, along with much of its metal, is heat-treated with a stainless-polished finish. Bidding begins at $500, with bid increments of $25. For information on the NRA Annual Meeting, click here. For information on Camp Perry, click here. |
